Richard B. Cheney has been a public servant over a number of years, as well as a successful businessman. The current position he holds is Vice President of the United States. Cheney is adamant in accepting his nomination as the Republican vice president that he would like to work with a presidential candidate who is willing to cooperate cross-partisanally and with political rivals with good will and for a common cause. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old, he moved with his family from Nebraska to Casper in the western part of Wyoming and his father directed the local district of soil conservation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
