Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics coach who would become Comaneci's coach in later years, discovered her at age six. Comaneci was the first to compete for time in the national junior championships and finished 13th. The following year she was crowned champion. In her 1972 first international meet in an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975 she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. In 1975 she was awarded 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first female to do a backward double salto as a dismount from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey of Carol Wayne to the world of entertainment began when she was a teenager. Along with her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined touring entertainment programs that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her journey into the world of entertainment during her teenage years. She started her career as a model skater with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
