April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and piano classes, which ignited her love for writing songs. When she was in seventh grade, April began taking guitar and piano lessons. This ignited her interest to write songs. At 14 old, she spent an enormous amount of time developing song ideas and perfecting the music. The following months, she began taking notes together with her dad on trips to LA as well as NY. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in her book Take My Hand to help the people in her life who are struggling with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicide. Lockhart collaborates with popular Clean Beauty brand Ilia as well as an influencer in the lifestyle industry who has a growing fan base. It's true that she was born with no left hand, and it creates her unique. However, this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on her Instagram account, but she does not make it the main focus of it. It's a message. This is the message: We all have numerous identities. We're much way more diverse than we think we are. Lockhart, via video message from Nashville home, states I don't want that to be a part of my character. I'm much more than my physical self. But it does not affect my day-to-day routine. I still do all the normal things and I've adapted to the limitations of my disability. Because it's part of who I am, it's something that's worthy of talking about. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay moving forward with self-acceptance. However, she admits to going through periods of feeling insecure about her body and feeling uncomfortable in certain clothes that exposed her arms. Now, though she dons anything she likes and uploads photos in those outfits to social media with pride. The journey itself is the key thing I don't know that it will be an end about self-love. However, that is the case with anyone with doubts. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand your personal story and who can look inside your soul are the ones you should be relying on who can remind you of the things you're concerned about.
