Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. She is an actor or singer, as well as dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Ashford has been involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who brought us Hamilton is directing the musical. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters in the first impeachment proceedings in America for over a century. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Additional Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver & raised there.
